Teen Volunteer Leadership and Internship Program
Teen Volunteer Leadership and Internship Program is an elite opportunity for a select group of teens. Teens will participate in several weeks of leadership customer service training prior to assuming team leader roles weekly at the front information desk. After successful completion of the program and completion of 100 hours of volunteer service, teens are eligible to intern in other areas of our facility. Graduating teens may be considered for our Auxiliary 501c3 Beverly Statter Junior Volunteer Scholarship.
Follow the steps below to get you on your way to becoming a Swedish volunteer.
- Complete the Teen Application Form and required Background Check Form. Note: Students under the age of 18 must also provide a copy of their Social Security Card for verification. Save the forms to your computer and e-mail us, or print and send via mail to:

- Once your background check has been approved, we will be happy to extend an invitation to attend a mandatory New Volunteer Orientation. The orientation consists of an introduction to our facility, an overview of the Volunteer Program, as well as information pertaining to understanding and adhering to Swedish Medical Center's Core Values and Standards in delivering memorable care and exemplary service to our patients and visitors. All new volunteers are required to have a TB test will be administered by our Employee Health Department as well as provide documentation of flu vaccination during the winter flu season. Flu shots in addition to TB shots are free of charge for new volunteers.
ALL volunteers are required to make a minimum six-month commitment for four hours per week. Only three absences are permissible during the initial six-month period. We strongly encourage you to assess your schedule to determine if you are able to fulfill this requirement prior to applying.
