Austin Brackett, RN, BSN
Nurse Manager - Medical/Surgical and Oncology
Parkridge Medical Center

Who am I?
I have worked at Parkridge Medical Center for a little over five years. I started working during nursing school as a patient care tech (PCT). As a registered nurse, I have been able to experience many different areas of nursing here at Parkridge, such as Orthopedic, ICU, float pool, house supervisor, and most recently nurse management.

I would not be where I am today without the support of the incredible team that I am surrounded by.

What I love most about what I do
Although my role at Parkridge Medical Center has changed frequently, the thing that has stayed the same is the consistent care and support that this healthcare team has provided to its patients. I would not be where I am today without the support of the incredible team that I am surrounded by, and I would not still be in this field if it wasn’t for the incredible patient experiences that I have been blessed enough to be a part of. The thing that I love most about this job is getting to be a part of such an incredible team that never stops working for its patients; it truly does make all the difference.

My care philosophy
There is no room for ego in healthcare. I have adopted this philosophy by watching time and time again the selflessness of the team here at Parkridge. Every day I witness acts of kindness and compassion by both my fellow nurses, and my leaders. I feel that I have found an environment that not only holds me to an incredible standard of care, but continues to push me to be better tomorrow than I was the day before.
