What is the process once I submit my resume/application?
Once your application is complete, a recruiter will review your credentials and make sure you meet the requirements for the posted position. If you meet the requirements, you will be passed on to the manager for review. The hiring manager will contact you if they are interested in conducting an interview. If you do not meet the requirements, you will be removed from consideration for that specific position.
Would you like to update or check on the status of your current application? Check your application status online.
If I apply to one position, and I see there are three of the same positions open, am I going to be considered for all three positions?
No, not necessarily. Our system posts one opening for each open position we have. Some positions could have the same title but are in different departments with different schedules. If you are interested in all of them, you need to apply to each individual position. Please look at the postings carefully, including the details of shift or department, which could vary on each posting.
Is there a limit to the number of positions I can apply for at one time?
No, but please make sure you are applying only for positions for which you meet the qualifications.
Prophecy is a clinical assessment that is required for all RNs, LPNs, and CNAs as well as some other clinical positions. Please make sure you have time to complete the test. When answering, focus on patient and family centered care, customer service, and teamwork. You only need to complete these assessments once for the same type of job (example: completed Prophecy for a CNA position can be used for all other CNA positions, but if you graduate and receive an RN you will take a new RN Prophecy test.)
Skill Survey is our reference-checking tool. We ask that you input five references, two of which need to be previous supervisors, teachers or instructors. They will complete an anonymous survey about your work history and ethics. We usually check references for our top candidates, so if you are not selected for one job, we can use the same references for any other positions for the next six months. After that point you will be asked to complete a new survey.
Please understand that we receive many applications for each position. Sometimes this could be as high as 75-100 for one posting. While we would love to talk with each candidate, that is not always possible. Once we review your credentials and send to the managers for review, they will contact the candidates they are interested in interviewing. This may just be five or six of the 100 applications that were received. You can log in to your account and see if you are ”under review” or ”not selected” for the positions you applied to. We work diligently to keep your status updated. You are also welcome to call HR Direct Connect at (828) 213-5600 to ask for the status of your application, though they can share only limited information.
We typically will keep the position open until an offer is accepted. Sometimes you may have just applied on the day another candidate accepted. If that candidate were to decline our offer, your application would still be in consideration.
No, you do have to currently have the certification or be presently enrolled in a CNA class with an exam date in order to be considered for a CNA position. Once you are an employee with Mission, we would be happy to help with your continuing education; note that for clinical positions, you must have those certifications in order to be considered for the role.
Take a look at the role you are applying for in detail. Do you truly meet the requirements as outlined on the posting? Make sure that your resume or application refers to the requirements of the job you are applying for and your experience is related to the job if required.
We do consider a degree in lieu of experience in some cases, but not for every position. If that is something we can consider for that specific role, it will be clearly stated on the job posting.
Managers like to inform their top candidates when they have been selected, but all formal offers will come from someone in Human Resources (HR). There are a few steps we have to go through before we can make a formal offer to a candidate, which is why your official offer may be delayed or come after your verbal offer from the hiring manager. When HR formally makes the offer, you will discuss a tentative start date.
Think of our pay bands as reflecting a 30-year career directly related to the role. The minimum rate would be for someone starting out in their career, the midpoint would be for someone with about 15 years of experience and the maximum would be for someone with 30 years of experience directly related to the role. For example, if you were a retail manager for 10 years but decided to make a career change and become a nurse, you would be a nurse with zero years of experience. You would be considered at the bottom of the RN pay band.
Mission does like to promote within, but we have a policy that requires you to stay in your role for six months without any corrective action before you are considered eligible to apply for other positions and transfer to a different role.
