Job Summary and Qualifications

Laboratory Assistants at HCA understand, and put into practice, general lab policies/procedures as well as department/section specific policies/procedures. They effectively investigate/resolve specimen collection problems using Outstanding Specimen Report (OSR) and specimen tracking tools when appropriate. Our Lab Assistants are cooperative in assisting the Laboratory Team with various duties to reach a common goal.

EXPERIENCE

Required - Minimum of 3 months phlebotomy experience or training from an accredited school of phlebotomy.
Preferred - At least 1-year experience in phlebotomy. Specimen handling experience a plus.

EDUCATION

Required - High School Graduate or equivalent.

Preferred - Phlebotomy training from an approved school. Phlebotomy certification.

CERTIFICATION
Preferred - ASCP/ASPT certified phlebotomist or equivalent.
