Position Summary

Our exclusive and specialty medical services in nine hospitals and six surgical centers throughout two states, provides a full spectrum of primary, acute, tertiary and chronic care for our patients. Our specialized care areas focus on advancing the science of medicine while providing high quality, life-saving technology and patient-focused care.
Facility Based Description
Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital provides a host of technologically-advanced services including Cardiovascular, Neuro, Orthopedic, Bariatric and General Surgery, Interventional Pulmonology and services for Women. Regional holds Joint Commission advanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Get with the Guidelines- Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. It is a certified Chest Pain Center, county-designated STEMI (heart attack) Receiving Center, designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, a member of Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ECMO) and is certified by The Joint Commission in Sepsis care.

Qualifications
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: Current CA RN License, BLS, ACLS
Preferred: TNCC
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: At least 5 years experience in a acute care setting.
Preferred: 3-5 years managerial or supervisory experience.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: BSN or equivalent Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree (or achieved within 5 years).
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking ability, knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, and Emergency/Trauma/Critical Care.
Minimum: Effective front line supervision, word processing/spreadsheet, time management, clinical proficiency, Title XXII, Quality Improvement
Preferred: Completion of formal management training
