Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Nurse Manager of Surgical Services you will be responsible for assisting the Director with the planning, administering, and evaluating the operations of the Operating Room. We are looking for someone who has a passion for creating an environment focused on providing excellent care to patients and their families.

In this Manager role:

    • You will have experience with role modeling and sustaining patient and family centered care and direct staff as they care for patients and educate families.
    • You will share accountability for the standards and scope of nursing practice within the unit.
    • You will work with the Director on department staffing; hiring, evaluating, guiding, disciplining, and scheduling of staff.
    • You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
    • You will develop and communicate a shared vision for the department consistent with the hospitals vision.
    • You will be skilled at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of staff performance and work with them on training and development accordingly.
    • You will have the ability to effectively coordinate functions with staff, physicians and other departments of the hospital with a focus on throughput based on the patient’s needs.

What qualifications you will need:
    • Compact RN License or Idaho nursing license in good standing.
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • CNOR required or obtained within twelve months of hire.
    • Two years clinical experience in the operating room preferred
    • Previous leadership experience preferred.

The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318 plus patient beds. We serve as the region’s healthcare provider and serve southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center and a Level 1 ICU (one of two in Idaho).  We have the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for critically ill children. We offer inpatient and outpatient mental health care for adolescents and adults at its 74-bed Behavioral Health Center.
