Putnam Community Medical Center is now HCA Florida Putnam Hospital. Our 99-bed acute care facility, located in Palatka, provides the latest technology with the assurance of highly trained, caring professionals to the residents of Putnam County. We have a 10-bed intensive care unit, cardiac catheterization laboratory, and 24-hour emergency department. We also provide inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.

Under the general direction of the Director, Medical Imaging, performs routine and specialized ultrasound procedures for the purpose of detecting pathology. Identify each patient and review physician orders for consistency with clinical information. Assess patient condition and ensure patient safety through proper use of immobilization devices. Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and competence. Consistently deliver the best in customer service and patient care. After verifying the physician’s orders, performs routine and specialized ultrasound procedures for the purpose of detecting pathology. Exams include abdomen, carotids, venous and arterial Doppler, ABI, 1st trimester OB, pelvic/GYN imaging, etc.Assist physician with performing interventional procedures; i.e., biopsy, paracentesis, etc. Performs high level disinfection of transcavity probes as required by TJC. Completes all required examination worksheets for delivery to the radiologist. Documents accurate patient information pertinent to the exam being performed. Assures patient comfort and recognizes their needs and concerns during their encounter. Performs accurate computer functions to include all appropriate edits, changes, charges , PACs, telerad, etc. Demonstrate ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing physician orders.

Vocational/Technical (ARDMS, ARRT, RVT)
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Must be registered in vascular sonography ARDMS or ARRT CCI
RDMS (ARDMS, ARRT, RVT)
BLS Certification preferred
Minimum 1 year experience in Ultrasound
