Following physicians' orders, the EP Tech assists physician with cath lab procedures and contributes to cardiac diagnosis within scope of practice. Position tasks and responsibilities include:
Scrubs with physician and circulates on all cath lab procedures, including prepping, sterile procedures and interventional technology, within scope of practice and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Implements daily and weekly QA and maintenance procedures on all specified cardiac cath equipment according to established policies and procedures.
Monitors patients electrocardiogram and reports rhythm disturbances to physician. Monitors and records intracardiac and intravascular pressures.
Utilizes all appropriate equipment and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
Contributes to a culture of patient centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors degree in Biology Anatomy & Physiology, or related field
Experience: 2 years of Electrophysiology experience with knowledge of EP and Ablation devices.
Licensure: RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
Training: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
Skills: Proficient in arrhythmia identification, hemodynamic changes, all interventional (EP/ablation/coronary/peripheral). Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
