South Tampa Hospital’s Progressive Care Unit is a 20 bed unit specializing in Cardiac Care and other Transitional type care. Our staff takes pride in our unit and lives the motto “Excellent Patient Care through Outstanding Teamwork” every day. Each of our nurses are ACLS certified, NIH stroke Scale Certified, Advanced Cardiac Rhythm Recognition certified, and many have other PCU specific specialty certifications. The Progressive Care Licensed Practical Nurse, under the direction of Unit Director/Charge Clinical Coordinator and in coordination with Registered Nurses, is responsible and accountable for patient assessment and evaluation and delivery of patient care through the utilization of the nursing process in accordance with physicians’ orders, established policies and procedures, established professional standards, and administrative hospital-wide policies.
