Description
Oviedo Medical Center, the new 64-bed acute care hospital, provides a full range of healthcare services to east Seminole County and surrounding communities. Services include medical and surgical inpatient units, intensive care, medical cardiology, telemetry, cardiac catheterization, inpatient and outpatient surgery, women’s services including labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary services, comprehensive diagnostic imaging and 24/7 emergency care. Oviedo Medical Center is designed with the patient in mind with personalized care, all private rooms and the newest medical technology available. Oviedo Medical Center is located at the intersection of Red Bug Lake Road and State Road 426.
Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the surgeon, prepares and maintains the surgical area, scrubs and assists the physician during procedures. Assists the RN in technical functions related to patient care in the OR, the training of others, and functions as a resource within the department. May be called upon to help with the LDRP department in case of emergency staffing needs.
Job Functions:
Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) and the State of FL Surgical Assistant Program, OR Medical School Graduate; OR allied health professional having completed 2250 hours surgical rotation.
Experience: 1 year OR experience
Licensure: Current Certification as First Assistant (CFA)
Training: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; or BLS Instructor 3/2016
Skills: Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
