The duties and responsibilities of the MRI Technologist include but are not limited to:

Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
Transfer and positions the patient in a safe manner.
Practices safety procedures relevant to inherent magnetic field.
Understands and operates electronic information systems.
Compiles appropriate records to expedite results.
The MRI Technologist participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of MRI and to meet the continuing education requirements of the ARRT.
Involvement in Quality Control/Quality Improvement.
Initiates patient teaching including family and/or significant other.
Participates in the educational process (supervision, evaluation, and instruction) of radiography students.
Required - One-year experience as MRI technologist.
Preferred -Two years’ experience as MRI technologist in a hospital environment. Hands on experience with X-Ray and CT
Required -Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. ARRT registered. CPR certified.
Preferred – Advanced Certification in MRI.
