Galen College of Nursing is looking for a Clinical Education Coordinator to assist in the negotiation and arrangement of clinical experiences for all students enrolled in the nursing program and assist with data collection for the graduate employer survey.

• Responsible for assisting with and arranging clinical experiences which meet the educational requirements for students in all RN nursing programs at Galen including clinical scheduling, and clinical document oversight in order to enhance nursing student experiences
• Establish and maintain relationships with representatives of the agencies in which students are placed to maintain clinical site relationships through meeting site expectations
• Research and recommend appropriate agencies that would meet the identified educational requirements for clinical experiences for nursing students
• Responsible for coordinating and scheduling new clinical faculty orientation
• Conduct and review evaluations of clinical placement fair to assess effectiveness in meeting clinical document preparation goals
• Assist with clinical course coverage as directed by Director of Clinical Education
• Use continuous process improvement skills to refine clinical paperwork activities to create a seamless procedure for students and clinical affiliates
• Adheres to and ensures clinical affiliate deadlines are met for required clinical documentation
• Other duties as assigned by Director

Qualifications

• Unencumbered Nursing License in this state
• Minimum Qualification of an MSN degree, or in progress 
• Knowledge that includes an understanding of the educational objectives and experiences of student nurses
• An understanding of the clinical practice of nursing
• Knowledge of the diverse organizational environments in which nurses practice
• Knowledge of the types of clinical sites needed to meet course content and objectives

Special Qualifications:

• Three years of recent clinical experience (preferred)
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to interpret learning experience needs of students and match them to the capabilities of clinical placement agencies
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to be creative and innovative
• Proficient computer skills in order to collect and analyze data
• Must be able to work independently and autonomously
• Able to recognize a need and address it with minimal direction
