Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Surgery Attendant, you will assist in the cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite. You will clean operating room equipment, maintain a sterile environment, perform duties in sterile processing, assist in patient transfers to and from the operating room, and assist with positioning the patient on the operating room table.

• You will prepare the patient and operating room for each procedure and/or surgery
• You will verify patient charts for required pre-operative checklist
• You will check conditions and cleanliness of equipment prior to procedures
• You will anticipate the needs of the operating room circulator
• You will appropriately handle and transport all specimens
• You will assume responsibility for supplies and equipment management

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

• Previous operating room experience – preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) per St. David’s Healthcare policy
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification – preferred
