Jump start your nursing career at St. David’s Healthcare by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN).
Cohort Start dates: January, February and March 2023
These Inpatient Rehab RN Residency positions are available at the following hospitals:
The StaRN Program includes a combination of didactic training, simulation, and clinical preceptorship. As a new RN in our StaRN Program, you will receive the education and support necessary to move with confidence from the classroom to the bedside to become the highest caliber nurse.
The year-long StaRN program starts with a 10 to 22 week training agenda (depending on specialty):
Didactic Training: First 5 to 9 weeks (depending on specialty)
Clinical Preceptorship: Next 7-14 weeks (depending on specialty)
Residency Program – Remainder of your 1st year. Upon successful completion of the StaRN Program, residents will transition to their full-time roles at the hospital and continue professional development through routine interactions with a mentor
What qualifications will you need:

Specialties include: amputee, heart failure/LVAD, Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke/Young Stroke, and Spinal Cord Injuries (traumatic and non-traumatic). Nursing skills include: IVs, PICC/Central Lines, Trachs, Ports, LVADs, Wound/Ostomy Care, NG/PEG/JG Tubes, Blood Administration, Cardiac Medications, etc.
