HCA Florida Osceola Hospital is a Joint Commission accredited 404-bed hospital that builds on a proud tradition of healthcare excellence in Osceola County, Florida. Osceola Hospital is conveniently and centrally located in Heart of Kissimmee only minutes from Orlando, St. Cloud, Celebration and Poinciana.  We are committed to continually enhancing the standard of healthcare by providing services to include: Emergency Care, Trauma Care, Pediatric ER, Heart & Vascular Institute, Comprehensive Stroke Center, The Baby Suites maternity care, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Level II, Women’s Services, Behavioral Health, Orthopedics & Spine and a Graduate Medical Education Program. We also expand our care to the community with our freestanding Emergency Department at Hunter’s Creek ER.

Job Function:

  • Demonstrates concern and empathy to patients.  Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in the performance of procedures and provides care in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
  •  Verifies physician order and reviews complete patient history prior to the procedure.  Prepares patient and conducts clinical studies and procedures in safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures. 
  • Maintains effective communication with patient; provides explanation of procedure within scope of practice. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system.  Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.
  •  Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm.  Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.
  • Maintains proactive and effective communication with physician regarding any unusual clinical findings, history, test results and/or their implication. Notifies physician immediately of  abnormal recordings related to brain death or status epileptics. 

 

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program or "On The Job" training with 2+ years experience and references. 

Experience: One to three years experience as a EEG Tech preferred

License/Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support)

Skills: Organizational; Verbal; Interpersonal; Customer Relations; Analytical; Grammar/Read - Follow Verbal Directions, Computer skills
