Job Function:

• Demonstrates concern and empathy to patients.  Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in the performance of procedures and provides care in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
•  Verifies physician order and reviews complete patient history prior to the procedure.  Prepares patient and conducts clinical studies and procedures in safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures. 
• Maintains effective communication with patient; provides explanation of procedure within scope of practice. 
• Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system.  Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.
•  Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm.  Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.
• Maintains proactive and effective communication with physician regarding any unusual clinical findings, history, test results and/or their implication. Notifies physician immediately of  abnormal recordings related to brain death or status epileptics. 

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program or "On The Job" training with 2+ years experience and references. 

Experience: One to three years experience as a EEG Tech preferred

License/Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support)

Skills: Organizational; Verbal; Interpersonal; Customer Relations; Analytical; Grammar/Read - Follow Verbal Directions, Computer skills
