The HCA Florida West Hospital campus includes the acute care hospital, the area's only comprehensive, CARF-accredited physical rehabilitation hospital, and a behavioral health facility. Position Summary |
Provide care to patients under the direction of the RN in the Surgical Services suite. |
Major Responsibilities |

Essential Functions

Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments, and supplies needed for surgical cases. |
|
Communicates, interacts, and participates in teamwork on the unit to provide patient care. |
|
Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process. Communicates and participates in patient care activities in direct conjunction with the RN. |
|
Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to patient’s right to privacy by protecting confidential information. |
|
May have access to POS room or designated areas to transport, assemble, or stock inventory of non-scheduled drugs and biologicals to include but not limited to fluids, sterile water, normal saline, and irrigations. |
|
Promotes and displays a positive customer oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians. |
|
Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or the services delivered. |
|
Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues. |
|
Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patients care which results in patient harm. |
|
Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety. |
|
Other duties as assigned. |
