Job Summary and Qualifications

 

The Nurse Manager has the direct-line responsibility for day-to-day operations and overall responsibility for the nursing department, insuring that employees have effective management, good communication and appropriate discipline. The Nurse Manager insures that the charge nurses fulfill their responsibilities as front-line supervisors. The Nurse Manager is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the coordination of patient care, administrative, and nursing activities. The Nurse Manager is responsible on a 24 hours basis for the quality of nursing care provided to patient. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider-required on hire

    • BLS required upon hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire
    • STABLE must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
    • Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse License

      • Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred
      • 3+ years of nursing experience in an acute care setting required;  Recent experience in Mother Baby areas preferred and highly desirable candidates with one year of related specialty Level II, Mother/Baby, L/D, and Peds will also be considered.
