Regisistered Nurse Coordinator Occupational Health and EmployeeHealth 


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse (RN) for Occupational and Employee Health coordinates delivers high quality, patient-centered care by supporting the comprehensive Employee Health Program(s), designed to promote employee wellness, maintain productivity, decrease absenteeism, and promote cost containment. The RN assists with the clinical function of the program(s), including pre-employment processing, occupational health testing, and surveillance. Serves as the subject matter expert for federal, state, and local regulations governing Occupational Health, helping to ensure effective and efficient management of employee care and resolution of claims.


 SPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides analytical and practical support for day-to-day operations, including pre-employment screenings, annual physicals and immunizations, and Worker’s Compensation claims.

Ensures program quality assurance through implementation of standards and policies, assessments, and reporting.

Stays abreast of enterprise policies regarding pre-employment screenings, drug and TB testing, and annual physicals and vaccines.

Stays abreast of Worker’s Compensation labor codes, reporting requirements, and all federal, state, and local regulations.

Assists employees who have sustained a work related illness or injury, providing necessary forms and coordinating medical evaluation and treatment.

Collaborates with department leaders, Human Resources, the Medical Director, third party claims administrators, and treatment providers to ensure smooth management of work related injuries and illnesses throughout the process.

Leads the interactive process with the injured employee and manager to identify accommodations such as modified duty or alternative work assignments.

Works with leadership to implement loss control strategies, including employee safety programs to reduce worker injuries and liability.

Serves as the initial source of medical evaluation and reporting for employee work-related illnesses and injuries and assigns employee to appropriate level of care. Provides consultation and first aid and schedules therapy, rehabilitation, and/or work restrictions as needed.

Serves as case manager for work-related exposure, injury, or illness. Evaluates and investigates all incidents, coordinates medical interventions and work absence/light duty assignments, and conducts follow-up to determine appropriate resolution.

Promotes interdisciplinary approach for the identification, tracking, and resolution of employee health issues.

Maintains all logs, periodic reports, employee files, and databases.

Provides necessary employee health education on wellness initiatives, safe work practices, and occupational health programs.

Assumes accountability for promoting consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.

Participates in all aspects of the Occupational and Employee Health & Safety Program(s). Provides quality care to employees in accordance with corporate/hospital policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations. 

Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”

  
Education: 
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree preferred
  • Tuition Reimbursement Program(up to $5,250/calendar year)
  • Student Loan Repayment Program.
Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in nursing required. Hospital setting preferred
  • Excellent communications skills and computer skills

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in NH or valid Compact State License
  • BLS(American Heart Association Health Care Provider or American Red Cross)
  • HCA will payfor certification renewals once employed
