Job duties include:
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in creating and maintaining a sterile field 

  • Plans and provides equipment and supplies based on procedure and physician needs.  

  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in assisting physician as it relates to specific procedures.

  • Promotes cost containment while delivering quality patient care. 

  • Participates in on-call assignments and demonstrates flexibility to cover staffing as needed. 

  • Demonstrates flexibility to perform other functions within the Cath Lab and in the Holding Area to assist in the smooth operation of the department.  

  • Analyzes pertinent data, communicates findings and documents information appropriately.

  • Actively looks at improving patient care and process improvement.  

  • Pursues own professional growth through continuing education and in services.

  • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures; supports the mission of the hospital.

  • Administers all medications/conscious sedation. Documents according to policies and procedures.

  • Maintains a safe working environment to include radiation safety/appropriate personal protection attire.

  • Communicates effectively with peers, managers, ancillary departments and other customers.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
  • Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program (required)
  • BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)
 
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia or current multi-state compact RN license with eligibility to practice in VA is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
