As a Coding Quality Review (CQR) Specialist, you will operate in a work from home environment supporting all CQR team related systems and tools. You will also serve as a liaison between the CQR team and the Internal Audit (IA) department.   
  

What you will do in this role: 

  • Support all CQR team related systems and tools such as CQA tool, CQR C-PART, CQR Management Tools, Review tools, and Productivity tools.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to assist with development, refinement, testing and maintenance of CQR team tools.

  • Lead initial development and/or evolution of tools to end state, which includes coordinating and collaborating with appropriate personnel within and external to the Parallon HIM department.  Assist the CQR management team with operationalization of tools.

  • Develop and update documentation to support the use of the tool (user guides, training manuals, policies and procedures, etc.).

  • Educate and train colleagues on tools.

  • Create and execute mechanisms to ensure data quality, which may include review and understanding of technical coding, auditing and/or operational details.

  • Analyze outcomes of data quality reviews and develop appropriate next steps based on needs.

  • Work with the CQR management team to assess, design and implement effective and efficient workflow related to tool use.

  • Function as point of contact for tool issues, root cause identification and responsible for coordinating, collaborating, communicating to resolution.

  • Maintain lists of all tool issues, enhancements, and development needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT preferred (Associate's or Bachelor's)
  • Equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement
  • Management/Supervisory experience in healthcare related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' acute care inpatient/outpatient coding experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years' coding auditing/monitoring experience strongly preferred
  • RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS preferred
