Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Austin Market Float Pool, you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, implementing and evaluating care. You will be responsible for directing, monitoring and evaluating the care delegated to non-licensed personnel on the team.
Austin Market Float Pool (AMFP) employees are required to float to all St. David’s HealthCare System Facilities. AMFP nurses will be scheduled in units in which they have competencies and can be placed in a unit below their competency level with a modified assignment.
Market Float Pool RNs are scheduled in accordance with the Staffing and Scheduling- Nursing, RN Floating - Healthy Workplace Environment (HWE) and Attendance policies. Requirements of RN unit based, facility based, or system based pools are based on which pool they are in.
Hours:
Full Time: Minimum of 36 hours per week. Two weekends (or four weekend shifts) per 4 week scheduling period is required. The weekend is defined as Saturday and Sunday.
PRN: Minimum of 24 hours per week. One weekend shift is required per 4 week scheduling period.
Holiday Requirements:
One Major holiday for the first half of the year (January-June) and one Major holiday the second half of the year (July-December). One Minor holiday for the first half of the year (January-June) and one Minor holiday the second half of the year (July-December).

Floating:
Market Float Pool employees will be required to float to all St. David’s Healthcare System Facilities. Market Float Pool Nurses will be scheduled in units in which they have competencies. Market Float Pool Nurse can be placed in a unit below their competency level with a modified assignment.
