Job Summary:

  • You are responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of the Comprehensive Stroke Center, in addition to the oversight of Cath/Specials Department, for TriStar Skyline Medical Center in collaboration with Vice President of Quality and Risk Management and Comprehensive Stroke Center leadership team. 
  • Your role ensures the facility complies with national standards for quality of care as dictated by the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, Joint Commission, and the governmental regulation for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) compliance.
  • You will ensure coordination of clinical processes in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, Medical-Surgical Units, Interventional Radiology, and Comprehensive Stroke Center that enhance care of the stroke patient.
  • You will coordinate with the Education Department to provide annual stroke educational opportunities for staff, make recommendations for competencies related to caring for the stroke patient, and coordinate annual needs assessment for upcoming educational opportunities.
  • Your role facilitates Neuroscience Steering Committee monthly meeting.
  • You will meet regularly with stroke program medical director; assist in the review and development of stroke center protocols.
  • You will work collaboratively with physician relations, access team, and marketing to promote positive relationships with referral sources/outreach for the Neuroscience Program.
  • You will evaluate performance data with Neuroscience Program Manager and Stroke Program Data Abstractor and make recommendations based on findings.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse license in Tennessee or appropriate compact state
  • BSN required/Masters preferred
  • Management of a Neuroscience program preferred
  • Stroke Certified RN (SCRN) preferred
  • BLS
  • ACLS
