The Special Procedure Lead Technologist demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and provides the care needed as described in the departmental policies and procedures.
Provides health care services applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment Performs radiographic and related procedures to demonstrate vascular structures for interpretation and/or therapeutic intervention by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor that reflects a high standard of medical ethics. Performs routine diagnostic procedures. Provides appropriate health care services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Recognizes conditions essential for the successful completion of procedures. Responsible for the staffing and scheduling of the Special Procedures Department, including the on-call schedule. Will act as department liaison to address any concerns involving the Special Procedures Department.Will assist in maintaining updated comprehensive fee schedules for current and new technology.
Other responsibilities are as follows: daily monitoring of the PLUS/staffing productivity, monthly and daily schedules of staffing. Ordering supplies for the department and perform daily verification of charges for that area. This position also requires the lead to attend all monthly staffing meetings, weekly management meetings and participate in the yearly evaluations of their staffing, interviewing new positions for the department. Must have excellent organization skills, interpersonal skills and be able to operate in sometimes-stressful conditions.
