Introduction

The Business Intelligence Analyst PSG is responsible for assisting with development of tools and reports for analyzing financial, clinical, and operational results using an enterprise business intelligence platform.

Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of management tools for analyzing financial, clinical, and operational results using enterprise tools.
  • Develops and maintains reports and analytics for the areas of physician compensation, revenue analytics, clinical and quality, coding, managed care, and corporate benchmarking.
  • Prepares on-demand analytics and ad-hoc reports.
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity through data discovery.
  • Creates a joint vision for reporting solutions by developing and maintaining strong relationships with customer and colleagues within the reporting and analytics team.
  • Leads in preparing and presenting the value proposition or business case for proposed reporting solutions.
  • Coordinates use of team resources during development of reporting solutions, whether project based or as appropriate, on ad hoc requests.
  • Builds network of relationships to draw upon for business expertise that may be required in key areas.
  • Leads the process of eliciting and documenting business, user, functional and non-functional requirements. Creates assigned/appropriate deliverables as a part of assigned projects or ad hoc development assignments.
  • Leads in the development of maps and flowcharts of business processes (current and future state.)
  • Identifies impact to other solutions or projects, and works with other stakeholders to identify options and recommendations.
  • Performs detailed analysis and evaluations on current/future state and documents conclusions and recommendations.
  • Provides coaching, technical, functional guidance on specific BA project deliverables.
  • Develops an in-depth familiarity with multiple datasets used to support customer deliverables such as dashboards.
  • Ability to work with multiple assignments in an effective and efficient manner, including assisting management in prioritization of tasks.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities, working individually or with teams to accomplish goals.
  • Works with all departments throughout product life cycle to ensure project dates are met and ensures timely completion of BA deliverables.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES – This position requires the following:
  • Understanding of the Business Analyst role with ability to educate others about the BA roles and responsibilities
  • Basic knowledge of the system requirements definition and documentation process
  • Basic skills required to utilize an enterprise business intelligence platform (preferably MicroStrategy), Excel and PowerQuery.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, data models and concepts of data queries against a data warehouse
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, platforms, and software packages.
  • Ability to interpret, draw conclusions, and summarize different types of information, such as clinical or financial.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially written, and the ability to concisely summarize.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to provide regular and direct assistance to executives.
  • Ability to perform work, special assignments, and tasks under only very general supervision
  • 1Ability to work under pressure and overtime (evenings and weekends) as needed

EDUCATION – Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

EXPERIENCE – 3+ years previous relevant work experience in an analyst/IT environment or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
