Job Summary and Qualifications

In support of the Physician Services Group Urgent Care Service Line, the Director of De Novo reports directly to the AVP of De Novo and is responsible for growth and expansion of UC markets and UC centers within the Service Line. Under the direction of the AVP, De Novo, provides leadership, directs and implements business growth consistent with strategic plans and objectives established by the Service Line, Physician Service Group and HCA leadership. The Director of DeNovo organizes, applies, directs, controls and evaluates the resources needed to achieve the business growth expected. The position uses all resources to generate measurable returns to benefit the company, the community, the physician and most of all, the patient.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Responsible for the onboarding and opening of clinics once site selection is complete. 
  • Supports site selection efforts to ensure proper placement of De Novo locations.
  •  Works with the AVP, De Novo, real estate development and construction teams post lease execution to ensure proper clinic build execution.
  • Works with architecture and design teams to ensure proper clinic layout.
  •  Manages equipment and supply procurement process as well as advising on exterior design and signage.
  •  Maintains a log of de novo activity and timelines across the enterprise. Reports those activities and timelines to the AVP De Novo. 
  •  Engages with the Director of Transition to coordinate service center activities and ensure clinic opening timelines are achieved. 
  • Engages with the local operations team to ensure operational needs are aligned with clinic opening timelines. 
  • Supports the coordination of an advertising strategy to build local awareness about a new clinic. 
  •  Consults and advises AVP of Integration in markets where urgent care development is driven locally.
  • Works with AVP De Novo to initiate and establish a long-range course of action and set of goals within the Business Growth area to ensure successful realization of the Service Line’s vision and goals that align with HCA and PSG.
  • Ensures synergies among people, process, and strategies to drive execution of business objectives. Last Update: December 2019

  • Clearly communicates HCA, PSG and UC Service Line Mission and Values. 
POSITION REQUIRES 50 - 75 % of TRAVEL

What you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience consists of in depth and up to date knowledge of healthcare administration typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in a business or healthcare related discipline. 
  •  3 years of more of practice/healthcare management experience is required. 
  • Possess a current working knowledge of accrediting organizations, state and federal guidelines, regulations and standards. 
  • Must have be able to demonstrate expertise in negotiation, planning, and leading change and possess strong communication skills, business and financial acumen, negotiation skills and exhibit a focus on the patient experience.
  • Must be highly skilled in building relationships with providers, business partners and employees.
  • Ensures synergies among people, process, and strategies to drive execution of business objectives.
