Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Manager of Clinical Research Operations at our new DDU, you are responsible for operational oversight of the assigned clinic, including but not limited study and site operations, fiscal management and personnel management
You are also responsible for establishing and building effective relationships with leadership and colleagues at Sarah Cannon, Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) and local hospitals, principal and sub-investigators, study teams, sponsors and other internal and external groups

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Document the duties and responsibilities that account for at least five percent of the incumbent’s time or are critical to the successful performance of the job. List duties and responsibilities in the order of criticality or those that require the most time.
  • You will supervise the following titles: Research Nurse, Clinic Nurse, CTS, DC, Lab Tech, Pharmacist
  • You will assist with all activities related to opening new early phase oncology clinic including but not limited to implementation of organizational processes, building and maintaining strong external and internal relationships, creating and implementing SOPs and Work Instructions, hiring and onboarding new staff, ensuring appropriate equipment and adequate supplies are available
  • You will plan, resource and track oversight of all study operations / clinical trial activity from study start-up to close out ensuring study activities are completed / performed by the research staff to assure completeness and accuracy, as well as adherence to federal and state guidelines.
  • You will assess quality of data and performance of clinical trials and develop action plans to address any gaps
  • You are responsible for goal setting, performance management, education and training of early phase study team ensuring alignment with the goals of Sarah Cannon and FCS.
  • You will establish and maintain relationships with departmental leaders, and facilitate effective teamwork and communication among Sarah Cannon study team and FCS clinic team
  • You will review proposed trial budgets and assess trial feasibility and data requirements prior to trial initiation and on an ongoing basis
  • You will manage, monitor and operate within allowed budget
  • You will review all program billing outcomes, working with FCS, and Sarah Cannon billing staff in addressing issues impacting financial outcomes and patient billing experience
  • You will serve as point person to provide updates on key metrics and milestones at regular intervals
  • You will identify and present project related issues and facilitate problem solving in the resolution of identified issues; escalating issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution
  • You will assist in developing and executing internal and external strategies

What qualifications you will need:
  • Associate Degree (Bachelor's Degree Preferred)
  • Prefer 3+ yrs relevant experience
  • Prefer RN licensure
  • Prefer Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN), ACRP or SoCRA
