Facility Description:

Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute is a 380-bed acute-care hospital offering a full range of services. Lawnwood is home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast providing interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include adult and pediatric emergency services, labor/delivery and birthing, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, diagnostic services, as well as inpatient and outpatient surgical services.

Lawnwood is designated by the Joint Commission as a Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited and we are designated a Level II Trauma Center by the Florida Department of Health and verified by the American College of Surgeons. We also offer a freestanding ER in Vero Beach providing emergency treatment for adults and children closer to home. Additionally Lawnwood offers the area’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). At Lawnwood patients come first – no matter what! Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Maintains a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room. Accompanies patient and ensures patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patient’s normal environment.
  1. Establishes a safe, risk-free patient environment by utilizing knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, and self-harm prevention. Performs room assessment regularly and after any visitations.
  1. Monitors patient physical and emotional condition.  Reports any changes in status promptly while remaining direct line of sight with the patient.
  1. Intervenes as needed to prevent patient from harming self or others.  Seeks immediate assistance for escalating incidents.

Qualifications

 

Requirements:

A high school diploma or GED is required

Excellent work ethic, professional appearance, and a kind, compassionate demeanor is needed

Participants must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

No experience is necessary - it is actually preferred!

A strict Monday through Friday schedule is required for the first 2 weeks
