Neonatal Nurse Practitioner  

Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 631- bed Health Care System including Bay Area, Doctors Regional, The Heart Hospital, Northwest Regional, Bayview Behavioral Hospital, Northshore Emergency Center, Northwest Behavioral Health Center and Radiation Oncology at Corpus Christi Cancer Center.

What you will do in this role:

  • A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is a registered professional nurse with clinical expertise in neonatal nursing who has received formal education in the medical case management of acutely ill, chronically ill, and convalescing infants and their families. 
  • The NNP is empowered to make independent choices regarding medical diagnosis and medical treatment, by use of standardized procedures, without the direct supervision of a physician. 
  • The NNP also provides healthcare maintenance to infants through the use of health promotion and disease prevention strategies.

Qualifications

What qualification you will need:

  • Advanced Practice Professional degree from an approved college of Nursing.
  • Board certified and have Texas NNP License.
  • One year of direct NNP experience.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty area.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and oral communication skills to work effectively with other health care professionals and serve as a resource to the community.
  • Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior
