As a Cook Helper at our facility you will have the opportunity to be both a nutrition professional and a caregiver, providing delicious and nutritious meals for patients, staff, and others when they need it most. You will be joining a hard-working and compassionate team that is so vital for the day-to-day functions of our hospital. In this role:
·You will prepare food for patients, visitors, and employees in a manner that ensures high customer satisfaction and in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
·You will assist the Cook in performing a variety of skilled tasks in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
·You will assist the Cook in ensuring adequate inventory and stocking of food and related supplies to meet day-to-day needs.
·You will help to manage/maintain the cleanliness of the department through the completion of regular safety and sanitation tasks.
·You will ensure client, customer service/satisfaction by modeling efficient, friendly service and promoting that behavior in other staff members.
·You will complete ongoing mandatory education regarding infection control, patient safety, quality improvement, and food safety standards.
·Food Handlers Permit or ServSafe Certification required.
·Hospital food preparation experience and cooking for modified diets experience preferred.
·Current Driver’s License.
The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318 plus patient beds. We serve as the region’s healthcare provider and serve southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (one of two in Idaho), and the only emergency room in Idaho Falls. We have the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for critically ill children. We offer inpatient and outpatient mental health care for adolescents and adults at its 74-bed Behavioral Health Center.
