The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Operations, serves in a operational role supporting the development, strategic planning, management and completion of projects for National Physician and Provider Relations. This role will support the goals, objectives, and accountabilities of Physician & Provider Relations (PPR) across HCA facilities, the corporate enterprise and all service lines. The AVP, in conjunction with the Senior Leader, PPR develops creative, strategic approaches to support collaboration and integration across HCA’s matrixed environment. The AVP of PPR will take a leadership role in operations, planning and executing specific PPR strategic initiatives under the direction of the Senior Leader, and in conjunction with the other members of PPR and leadership. The AVP will be a significant contributor to the achievement of PPR and HCA’s annual growth objectives. The AVP is the direct portal for operations communications and will complete analysis and additional duties as outlined below.

What you will do in this role

  • Participate in the creation and implementation of the PPR operational strategy.
  • Develop and execute key PPR programs, work streams, and projects.
  • Manage specific and complex development and design efforts focused on service line and hospital network growth initiatives – act as a link between service line objectives and PPR operational support. 
  • Broaden alignment with key service lines, hospitals, business areas, departments, and programs to increase collaboration for growth across HCA though PPR organization.
  • Work closely with leadership on Training and Development programs.
  • Interact frequently with HCA senior leadership, including Division and Group Presidents.
  • Work collaboratively with AVP of Finance & Analytics to continue the development and utilization of industry leading reporting and analytics.
  • Actively manage competing priorities to ensure successful pacing and execution.
  • Partner with marketing organization to enhance physician focused brand messaging and collateral.
  • Be the “go-to” for the field team.
  • Represent the Senior Leader, when Senior Leader has competing responsibilities.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s in Business, Marketing or Healthcare Administration strongly preferred.
  • 3-7 years of relevant work experience
  • 1-3 years of management work experience
  • 5-10 years of sales and sales management experience and operations experience required.
  • Experience in healthcare required.
