Job Summary and Qualifications

The nurses in CPP prep and recover patients having procedures in our Cath lab. Our Cath lab does a wide variety of procedures including: heart catheterizations, device placements (Pacemakers, AICD, etc), structural heart cases (valve replacements, Watchman procedures), and electrophysiology studies/cardiac ablations. The nurses in CPP also provide conscious sedation for TEE procedures and assist anesthesia and cardiologists with cardioversions. Prior to procedures, the nurses obtain vital signs, start IVs, draw labs and complete paperwork. During recovery, the nurses monitor VS and procedure sites. At discharge, they provide education and ensure that patients have follow-up appointments.

The nurses work 4 - 9s with rotating start times during the day (general coverage is 0500-1800). The applicant will also be expected to work 1 night shift/month on the nights we are holding our structural heart patients. This position does not include any call hours or holidays.

Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program. Our Nurse Graduate Program is designed to help you prepare to succeed in an acute care hospital setting. The program is comprised of a combination of didactic training, high definition simulation and clinical preceptorship. 

 As an RN in our StaRN program, you receive the education and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledge you'll need to become the highest caliber nurse. You will have the opportunity to be mentored by the best, most highly educated and trained nurses within our facilities. 

 During the StaRN program, you will work with instructors to complete class assignments, skills training and exercises. Then, you will work with your preceptor during the preceptorship that follows. At successful program completion, you will be a valued team member with specialty training, established relationships and familiarity with our values and culture.  Our StaRN program begins on January 10, 2022

 Program Schedule:

 First 5 weeks

  • Monday-Friday, typically 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with intermittent home study days. Must be able to attend all days.

Preceptorship – 5 weeks

  •  3 - 12 hours shifts, rotating shifts

This position requires a two year, full time commitment. The first year is a commitment to the unit you are hired to at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The second year is eligible to transfer to another unit at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center or any of our other 185 HCA hospitals around the country.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program prior to program start
  • RN licensure by Week Four of the program
