Position Summary – EMS Project Coordinator / Ambulance

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Project Coordinator has responsibility and accountability for the management of assigned projects or perpetual programs. The EMS Project Coordinator works closely with the Director of Emergency Preparedness, ED and EMS Medical Directors, the ED physician group, the Director of Emergency Services, the ED Clinical Nurse Leaders and all other departmental staff.

 

Essential Position Management of Projects or Programs

Assumes responsibility for the development of clinical quality or educational projects/programs to meet patient care goals in a changing health care environment.

Participates in the development of and supports the implementation of any assigned project or program already established or those identified for development. Reports directly to the Director of EMS and will provide regular reports on any assigned areas of responsibility.

 

Financial Management/Marketing

 

Provides input in the development and evaluation of operational and capital budgets as it relates to assigned projects/programs. Provides input as it relates to assigned projects/programs, as it relates to unit marketing planning.

 

Human Resources Management

 

Collaborates with staff to develop successful plans and implementation of project or program goals. Provide guidance and direction to any committees or staff involved in any project/program work.

 

 

 

Leadership

 

Provides leadership to ensure that the standards and policies of the Hospital are translated into action on the nursing unit and field operations.

Establishes positive relationships with patient’s families, hospital departments, medical staff and the community. Assumes responsibility for the achievement of the EMS/ Nursing unit goals and actively participates with staff in

the achievement of department goals which promote the Hospital’s mission. Acts as a role model by using positive and professional interpersonal skills.

Maintains professional growth and development through conference attendance, professional affiliations or journals to stay abreast of current trends in field of expertise.

Contributes to development of new programs and services that are responsive to changes in the health care environment.

 

Assures that allocation of financial and other resources supports continuous improvement and innovation in patient care consistent with the hospital’s strategic plan and goals of re-engineering.

Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

  • Nationally Registered Paramedic from an accredited school.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a combination of education and experience.
  • EMS clinical certifications required on hire.
  • 3 - 5 years of clinical experience in Emergency Medical Services. Prior Emergency Medical Services project management experience preferred. 
  • Will be required to drive a motor vehicle in the course of these duties; must adhere to the Driver/ Fleet Safety Policy.
  • Tuition Reimbursement Program (up to $5,250/calendar year)
  • Student Loan Repayment Program (up to $100/month)
  • HCA will pay for certifications and/or renewals once employed
