Sonographer – Performs abdominal, pelvic (gynecological & obstetrical) and transvaginal sonograms. Additionally, is proficient at scanning small parts (thyroid, breasts & scrotom ) along with ultrasound guided biopsies., drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis and aspirations. Assists the Radiologist with Special Procedures. ARDMS is required. Strong knowledge base in cross sectional anatomy and vasculature.
Vascular Sonographer – Displays high degree of proficiency of scanning knowledge. Performs upper and lower arterial and venous vascular studies (also carotid studies – with measurements and manipulation –augmentations and segmental pressures). Has a strong knowledge base of vascular anatomy. RVT Certification required by any of the following accredited bodies ARRT, ARDMS, or CCI.
Echo cardiographer – Proficient in performing complete echocardiographic studies which include but are not limited to 2-D mode & color doppler studies. Works with Cardiologists, Certification in Echo required by any of the following accredited bodies ARDMS or CCI.
