Osceola Regional is conveniently and centrally located in Heart of Kissimmee only minutes from Orlando, St. Cloud, Celebration and Poinciana.  We are committed to continually enhancing the standard of healthcare by providing services to include: Emergency Care, Trauma Care, Pediatric ER, Heart & Vascular Institute, Comprehensive Stroke Center, The Baby Suites maternity care, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Level II, Women’s Services, Behavioral Health, Orthopedics & Spine and a Graduate Medical Education Program. We also expand our care to the community with our freestanding Emergency Department at Hunter’s Creek ER

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Facilities Management and the Manager, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled plumbing work, and maintaining buildings and grounds as assigned.

This position will be Full Time and will have rotating weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing equipment.
  2. Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas and draining system.
  3. Cuts and threads pipes, fits valves, couplings and other specified parts to piping sections and plumbing fixtures.
  4. Calculates quantity of materials needed and other supplies to complete an assigned project.
  5. Reads blue prints or specifications to determine materials, time and methods used in completing assigned projects.
  6. Prepares surface and applies coats of paint, varnish, stains, or enamels to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of the hospital.
  7. Performs ground maintenance as directed.
  8. Performs maintenance and repair of landscaping sprinkler system components.
  9. Keeps up to date preventive maintenance records.
  10. Must be accessible for emergency and on-call duties on a 24-hour basis.
  11. Shall observe safety rules and regulations at all time.
  12. Promotes positive customer service with internal and external customers.
  13. As a crisis prevention intervention trained staff member, responds appropriately to a manpower request (a.k.a. Dr. Love).
  14. Regular, punctual and dependable attendance.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

  • Vocational or technical training preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Journeyman card preferred
  • Current valid Florida driver’s license required

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: 

  • 3 to 5 years plumbing experience required
  • Experience in healthcare preferred

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of relevant building codes; knowledge of the materials, tools and techniques of construction and painting trades.
  • Ability to work from sketches, blue prints and written instructions; ability to exercise initiative and judgment in estimating the methods, materials and time needed to complete assigned projects; ability to troubleshoot equipment or plumbing malfunctions so as to identify the problem and take appropriate action to correct the situation: ability to work rapidly and efficiently under emergency situations; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ; ability to perform work in rather inaccessible areas.
  • Skill in the use of a variety of hand and power tools used in the carpentry and painting of buildings and grounds.
  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately with minimal direct supervision, within probationary periods.
