Position Summary:

Serves as an ambassador for the department promoting service excellence by developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all areas of the Hospital, to ensure the highest quality of care by performing responsibilities according to the highest professional standards. Maintains records for compliance with quality control/assurance activities and regulatory agencies.  Orients and trains new hire mammography technologists. Performs human resource responsibilities for employees, which includes coaching on performance, assist Supervisor/Director with performance reviews on mammographers, and overall staff morale. Responsible for ACR accreditation application and compliance. Assists medical physicist in audit of MQSA/FDA program to ensure it remains within the scope of activities.  Evaluate current and proposed activities and recommend changes when necessary. Participate in community outreach for Breast Health at health fairs and other community events. Ensures proper maintenance, and updates of medical equipment.  Regularly assess departmental processes, and recommend ways to improve performance. Maintains appropriate staffing levels while providing safe, high-quality patient care. Responsible for coordinating staffing schedule to ensure holidays, vacations, and call-offs are covered. Responsible for ordering supplies. Ensures proper maintenance, and updates of medical equipment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED

Associate Degree or equivalent in Radiological Technology required

MQSA compliance required

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

ARRT required

State of Florida license required

BLS certification required

Mammography registry required

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: 

Knowledge of breast anatomy, needle biopsy procedures, and complete mammographic positioning skills

3 years or greater experience in mammography
