Job Summary and Qualifications:  RN Sepsis Coordinator Part-Time

As a Sepsis Coordinator you be responsible for achieving excellence in clinical 

outcomes management and performance improvement in sepsis management and other quality metrics. In this role:

 ·You will partner with physicians, nursing, clinical documentation specialist, and informatics and analyst team to evaluate focused clinical outcomes in sepsis and process measures to ensure timely delivery of evidence-based practices and widespread dissemination of results and opportunities for improvement.

·You will be a consultant in the clinical setting as a subject matter expert maintaining and promoting evidence based clinical practice standards. 

·You will be familiar with CMS Core Measure requirements for Sepsis, Severe Sepsis and general quality metrics.

·You will evaluate hospital wide Code Sepsis protocol compliance and the completion of the Early Goal Directed Therapy Sepsis Bundle.

·You will lead the initiative in reviewing the success of the surviving Sepsis Initiative and providing suggestions for improvement in the process of recognition, activation and implementation of the sepsis protocol.

·You will be responsible for assessing the appropriate and early assessment of severe sepsis patient presenting in the emergency department, the compliance with the sepsis bundle and issues related to the transfer of patient care to the CCU Team.

·You will responsible for developing hospital wide education curriculum for staff nurses and physicians focused on the early recognition of severe sepsis and activation of the Code Sepsis Team.

·You will be responsible for hospital wide data collection; mortality rate and coordination of other data with infection control departments.

    ·You will be responsible for sepsis data collection and presentation to the hospital leadership, Critical Care and Medical Executive Committee

    What qualifications you will need:

    ·Current State of Utah Registered Nurse License (compact state license accepted).

      ·Bachelor Degree in Nursing or relevant healthcare-related field; Master's degree preferred.

      Minimum 2 years clinical experience within the last 5 years in medical surgical clinical setting, preferred
