St. David’s HealthCare is offering a great program for Registered Nurses interested in transitioning from bedside nursing to Case Management! The RN Case Manager Plus Specialty Program is a unique opportunity that provides a pathway for experienced Acute Care Registered Nurses to transition into Case Management. It is innovatively designed to provide intense training for experienced nurses with a passion to work in the Case Management setting. The program will provide you with the tools necessary to succeed in today's Case Management environment.

The Case Management Specialty Program will be offered:

Program Details:

The Case Management Specialty Program will last for approximately 12 weeks: 

The first five (5) weeks include a combination of interactive classroom discussions, case studies and clinical documentation training with experienced clinical instructors

The remaining seven (7) weeks are spent at the facility working with a Case Management Clinical Preceptor Attendance is mandatory for the entire program.

  • Observation Management – Managed Care Payors

Program acceptance requires a minimum two (2) year, full time commitment to the hospital and unit.

  • Acute Care Hospital Experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Texas RN Licensure, or Recognized Compact Licensure
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
