Clinical Pharmacist - Medication Safety
 

Since 1976, The Woman’s Hospital of Texas has been the state’s premier facility dedicated to the health and well-being of women, newborns and children. The hospital’s 397 beds offers expertise and outstanding care in breast health, imaging, gynecology, obstetrics, high-risk pregnancy, neonatology, minimally-invasive surgery and pediatric care.

 

The Woman’s Hospital of Texas is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

 
What you will do in this role:
 
  • You will be responsible for reviewing the medication therapy and ensuring it is appropriate for the patient’s diagnosis.
  • You will evaluates medication orders, accurately and safely compounds medications in acceptable dosage forms, appropriately packages and dispenses pre-manufactured dosage forms.
  • You will identify and consults on possible drug interactions.
  • You will Effectively and accurately provides education or in-services on rational medication therapy and medication procedures to healthcare professionals, students, patients, or the public as needed
  • You will assists in the supervision and training of pharmacy technician personnel.
  • You will maintain knowledge pertaining to facility utilization of automated dispensing processes including the use of automated dispensing units, Connect RX, over wrap packaging, and barcoding within the facility.
 
 

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • Registered Pharmacist Certificate and current renewal certification issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required.
  • Requires Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy, or Pharm. D degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required
  • 3 years of acute care hospital experience or PGY Training 
  • Texas IV certification is required
  • BLS is required

***This role will be Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm***

Qualifications

 What Qualifications You Will Need:
