Job Summary
As a Sourcing Manager in our Design and Construction department, you will be r
esponsible for negotiating industry leading national agreements for the group purchasing organization (GPO) in the area of Facilities Operations and Capital Construction.   The objective is to ensure best in class industry pricing and contract terms and conditions for HCA and other members of the GPO.  Position's key area of focus will be sourcing initiatives that are primarily categories related to capital construction spend, construction complexity, project risk and sensitivity.  This position may also be responsible for leading and overseeing ad-hoc projects and other program involvement. Position may have some responsibility for other types of categories for the purposes of development and workload allocation.  The individual should possess knowledge or experience in principles and concepts related to design and construction, sourcing and contract/vendor management.

In the Sourcing Manager, Design and Construction role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Ability to plan and execute project timelines for assigned categories, with guidance from manager.
  • Oversee supplier relationship during the sourcing process.  Participate in supplier business reviews and review new products/technologies as they arise in assigned categories.
  • Build stable working relationships with customers with interaction primarily being through member advisory/supply chain board presentations.
  • Communication of bid process, negotiation status, agreement on terms, financial proposal concerns and other matters with supplier and internal team
  • Maintain timely achievement of all assigned sourcing initiatives ensuring activities adhere to all established policies and procedures and standards of business conduct.
  • Resolve supplier and/or customer issues, as escalated by Portfolio Specialist.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships building trust and respect by consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Under general supervision, the individual is responsible for the sourcing process for their assigned portfolio.  Including market research, bid preparation, RFI/RFP, contract negotiations, and contract launch.
  • Individual's board presentations must be well prepared, concise, and articulated clearly.
  • Use data collected to analyze spend, identifying trends and developing standardization and commitment opportunities
  • Understanding of the supply chain for facility and construction products and how they are purchased.


To be considered for the Sourcing Manager, Design and Construction role you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing and contract negotiations (Construction, Capital Expense highly preferred)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of financial analysis
  • Experience in Tableau or Power BI preferred
