Job opportunity:

Central Sterile Coordinator, St. Marks Hospital

Position Summary:  Responsible for preparing equipment and instruments for re-use by decontamination, sterilization and storage. Distributes supplies and assists in collection of supply charges. Promotes the values of Accountability, Integrity, Respect, Quality, Loyalty and Enjoyment.

Responsible for ongoing staff competencies. Coordinates staff educational inservices based on department need. Manages newhire department orientation and competency training. Assist technicians with obtaining and maintaining professional certification. Works with department Director to ensure department policies and procedures are in compliance with AAMI, TJC, CMS and other state/federal standards.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications - External

Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:

CRCST, with preference towards CIS, CER and CHL or equivalent certifications.

Experience:

Prefer experience in Sterile Processing, Materials Management, or Nursing with knowledge of Sterile Processing Techniques. CRCST, with preference towards CIS, CER and CHL or equivalent certifications. Has frequent interaction with physicians, nursing staff, ancillary departments, patients and their families. Must have the sensitivity, maturity, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Special Qualifications:

This position requires computer skills, leadership abilities, professionalism, common sense, flexibility, honesty, and a service-oriented attitude. Must be competent in overseeing and interacting with supervised personnel.
