As the Nurse Residency Coordinator with HCA's South Atlantic Division you will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the educational programs aimed at successful transition of new Registered Nurses through professional development across our 11 SC, GA and Jacksonville, FL, facilities. 
  • You will actively collaborate and engage in the entire orientation/onboarding process of new Registered Nurses during the first year.  This includes participating or leading the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating on-boarding and orientation programs for the new Registered Nurse.   
  • You will have the expertise in competency assessment in order to participate in the development, coordination, and managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating competency in the hospital setting.
  • You will participate in the design and identification of educational activities to address practice gaps for the new Registered Nurse in the hospital setting.
  • You will promote and integrate Evidence-based Practice (EBP) in order to continuously improve practice in the hospital setting.  
  • You will collaborate with partners to share experience in planning and decision making to achieve the desired results. 
  • You will identify and develop  strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning. 
  • You will monitor  practices or operations with reference to laws, regulations, guidelines, or industry practices to assess compliance, risk, or exposure while communicating key performance indicators for clinical education service line within your division.
  • You will support and provide input into the strategic planning and business development process within the clinical education area of responsibility that may include technology advances and other opportunities to drive differentiation support the growth agenda.
  • You will participate with the division education team to contribute to the development of long and short range operational and capital budgets aligned to business objectives.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned.  


  • Bachelor's degree; must be in Nursing if the applicant does not have an Masters Science in Nursing 
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education or other clinical field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in clinical education; 5+ years’ experience in nursing in an acute care hospital; if no experience as a clinical educator will consider 3+ years’ experience as a preceptorCurrently licensed appropriate to education in the state(s) in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • Certification as an NPD practitioner highly preferred. 
  • BLS
