As a Patient Care Tech (PCT) you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to deliver high quality, patient centered care in a variety of services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Our team is amazing, we consider ourselves a family who work hard to support each other and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

  • You will bathe, dress/undress patients, and assist with other personal hygiene needs
  • You will serve and collect food trays, and assist with patient feeding.
  • You will transport, position, and drape patients for exams and treatments.
  • You will assist patients in ambulating.
  • You will take and record vital signs, weights, and I & O.
  • You will performs non sterile dressing changes.
  • You will pass and collect bed pans.
  • You will change bed linens.
  • You will provide encouragement, support, and comfort to patients and family members.
  • You will monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. 
  • You will follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • The position will float to multiple units within the hospital to support the nursing staff needs.

Qualifications

  • State of Alaska CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) Certification 
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • Prefer six months of CNA experience in acute care setting
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
  • Ability to quickly make decisions to report patient condition with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment
