Job Summary and Qualifications

The Operations Manager, National Transfer Centers is responsible for the operations of the Transfer Center (TC) and Centralized Patient Placement. Plans, problem solves, and communicates, under the direction of the TC Assistant Vice President, with HCA hospitals, medical staff, administrators, department heads, and nursing staff to effectively direct bed placement, admissions and transfers from HCA and non-HCA hospitals. Leads and manages all members of these teams and work directly with the TC AVP to maximize volume growth and provide optimized services to HCA customers.

As the Operations Manager for the HCA Transfer Centers, you will:

  • Provide leadership, management and administration of all aspects of departments in order to ensure organizational mission and objectives are met
  • Develop relationships and processes that will enhance access to HCA facilities, services, physicians, and health care professionals
  • Hire and maintain appropriate staffing levels and utilization of personnel and ensure the highest quality of professional skill
  • Provide a structured means for policy and procedure development through regularly scheduled staff meetings allowing for continual evaluation, review, and update of standards, functions, goals, and objectives
  • Under the direction of the TC AVP, work collaboratively with HCA clinical and medical staff advisors and client designated medical staff advisors to establish, revise, and enforce the clinical and medical staff participation criteria for transfer operations, throughput, and communications operations
  • Under the direction of the TC AVP and in conjunction with Physician Relations, perform regular visits to strategic outreach facilities to provide training, communication, and address service opportunities related to transfer center activities
  • Manage capital/operational budget, strategic planning, customer relations, marketing, and outreach activities of the Transfer Center and Centralized Patient Placement
  • Manage and collaborate with facility and division throughput leaders, all throughput activities, changes and stakeholder relationships related to Centralized Patient Placement
  • In conjunction with the TC AVP, collect, correlate, analyze, and interpret operational, financial, and statistical data. Inform and advise appropriate members of the HCA Senior Management team of potential business opportunities
  • Assists with development of new programs/services
  • Qualifications


    Education and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 Year Program)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a RN clinical manager and/or supervisor
  • RN License in the states where the HCA facilities for that Division are located – multi-state license required if Transfer Center covers more than a single state (may be obtained upon hire)
  • Previous Leadership experience and skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills


    Preferences:

  • Master’s degree (1-2 Year Program)
  • 5+ years’ experience as a RN clinical manager and/or supervisor
  • RN License in the states where the HCA facilities for that Division are located – multi-state license required if Transfer Center covers more than a single state (may be obtained upon hire)
  • Experience in Transfer Center operations
  • Data Analytics experience
