Anesthesia Techician
Schedule: PRN / Per Diem
Location: Medical City Heart & Spine Hospital
Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Anesthesia Tech Supervisor, assists the anesthesiologist with routine to complex procedures before, during and after anesthesia procedures to include: Pyxis access for retrieval and return of anesthesia medication trays, and transportation of those trays to the appropriate OR suite. Restocks supplies. Cleans anesthesia equipment and work area. Resolves and troubleshoots clinical problems on anesthesia equipment. Proficient in anesthesia set utilizing M.S.M.A.I.D check off (machine, suction, monitors, airway, IV, drugs). Assist anesthesiologist with preparation of set-ups for adult and pediatric patients to include: adult and pediatric open heart and neurosurgery. Transports patients to and from the ICU, CCU areas and other critical care or patient care areas, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and/or an anesthesiologist.
Qualifications
Education/Experience Required:

Work requires knowledge of anatomy, biology, chemistry, pharmacology and instrumentation at a level generally acquired through one year of post high school training in nursing or a related allied health field. Or completion of an anesthesia tech program

2 year anesthesia tech experience preferred
-
Experienced in assisting anesthesiologist performing open heart, neuro-surgery and pediatric procedures, preferred
License/Certification Required:

Anesthesia technician national certification, preferred

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) provider

About Medical City Heart & Spine:
Medical City Dallas will open Medical City Heart Hospital and Medical City Spine Hospital this fall as destination hospitals for highly specialized advanced cardiovascular and spine care. The new facility is conveniently located near Medical City Dallas across Hwy. 75 and Forest Lane. Medical City Heart Hospital will have 63 private patient rooms and provide a wide array of cardiac services including complex vascular and heart surgery, advanced heart failure treatment, minimally invasive vascular surgery and other specialized heart care. The facility will also have the only dedicated cardiac emergency room in Dallas. The 24-bed Medical City Spine Hospital will provide comprehensive and coordinated spine care for common spine disorders and rare, hard-to-treat spinal deformities including adult and pediatric scoliosis, spondylolistheses, complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options among others.
