The Lead Medical Technologist is responsible for the direction and supervision of operations, specimen testing in the assigned area.  Directs and supervises entire laboratory including supervision of laboratory staff in addition to performing technologist duties. The incumbent is responsible for performing testing on body fluids and exudates to provide information used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.  Performs daily quality control, daily and scheduled preventive maintenance on all instruments to ensure quality of tests performed.  Is responsible for supply inventory and storage.  Efficient performance of these duties will directly enhance the treatment and recovery of the patient.  


What you will do in this role: 

  • You will maintain adequate inventories and requisitions expendable supplies for the department
  • You will provide supervision and guidance of staff.
  • You will ensure department specific compliance with regulatory agencies, in a cost effective manner, realizing that such compliance is the basis for total customer satisfaction.



  •  Must be currently certified as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP or AMT.
  •  Must have the ability to effectively read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Effective communication skills; both orally and written. 
  • Computer skills required. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.  Strong problem solving skills.  Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Prefer hospital laboratory experience and leadership experience preferred
