Since 1979 Raulerson Hospital has been providing the rural community of Okeechobee with quality healthcare and a personal touch. As the sole hospital provider in Okeechobee County, Raulerson Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. Raulerson is licensed by Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) as a Primary Stroke Center and provides comprehensive multi-modality diagnostic services accredited by the American College of Radiology. Raulerson’s surgical services include minimally invasive procedures, which can result in shorter hospital stays and a faster recovery.

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Radiology Director and/or  Lead Technologist performs those duties directly or indirectly related to the application of high frequency sound waves to provide static, real time and Doppler images/wave forms of the internal human anatomy to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and pathology.  It must be noted that the exam diagnosis is almost entirely dependent upon the quality of images and data presented to the radiologist.  The radiologist must have complete trust upon the skills of the sonographer.  Sonographic exams are predominantly dependent upon the skills of the sonographer and not necessarily the quality of the equipment used.  The successes or failure of the employees in this position lies mostly with the quality of their skills as demonstrated to the radiologist.  The person in this position must hold one or more advanced certifications in the field of Medical Ultrasound Technology one of which must be a vascular certification.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers
  • Current Certification in Basic Life Support with American Heart Association
  • Registered ARDMS, and RVT
