SCHEDULE: Full-time


NFRMC is a 510 bed, full-service medical and surgical acute care center serving North Central Florida for over 49 years. Position Description: The Transporter is responsible for transporting patients and equipment.

  • Job tasks and responsibilities include:
  • Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas as requested.
  • Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Greet and offer assistance to customers throughout the hospital.
  • Collect and deliver specimens, orders, requisitions and equipment to appropriate destinations.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Orients and mentors new staff members

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Graduate/GED is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and understand written and oral instructions.
Experience:
  • 6 months of related experience is preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, math, analysis, reading, following instruction, basic computer usage.
Licensure/Certification:
  • BLS through American Heart Association is required at hire, and maintained every 2 years.
