The Nurse Manager of Burn Trauma ICU has accountability and responsibility to provide a climate optimal for the provision of individualized goal directed nursing care that supports the mission, vision and values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. The nurse manager is expected to provide an environment where nurses practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices. The Nurse Manager is responsible for planning and providing individual goal directed nursing care that promotes, advocates for and supports the nursing staff’s primary commitment to protect the health, safety, and rights of the individual, family or community.
Medical City Plano is a 603-bed, acute care facility with more than 1,900 physicians representing over 70 specialties and subspecialties. This full-service hospital is Magnet® recognized for nursing excellence, accredited by The Joint Commission and designated a Level I Trauma Center with Collin County’s first and only Burn and Reconstructive Center. Other notable competencies include a Comprehensive (Level I) Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, Level III NICU, Brain and Spine Hospital, and Sarah Cannon Cancer Hospital.

BSN required; MSN or Masters Degree in related field preferred.
Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted, National Specialty Certification or plan to achieve within 1 year of hire.
