Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center, located in Panama City, Florida, is a 223-bed acute care hospital. For more than 40 years, Gulf Coast Regional has proudly served Bay County and our surrounding communities. Our top priority is to exceed patient expectations with the highest quality and most compassionate care. With more than 1,200 employees and 600 physicians, our fully accredited healthcare facility strives to provide state-of-the-art technologies and best practices in evidence-based care. Currently, our acute beds include a 20 bed adult intensive care unit along with a 4 bed pediatric intensive care unit. Gulf Coast Regional is certified in Advanced Primary Stroke Care, accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center, and is the area’s only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation. Our hospital offers a variety of services including orthopedic care and joint replacement, robotic surgery, cardiac, vascular and interventional services. Gulf Coast Regional provides the only Pediatric ER in the area and the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in the region.

Position Summary:

The Clinical Manager is responsible for day to day provision of care rendered to patients in the department, assists with oversight of daily operations, manages all staff members in the department and works closely with medical staff members.  Maintains an active role in community education and serves as a resource to the Department. Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively participates in appropriate department and hospital committees and ensures that unit personnel are involved as appropriate
  • Assesses need for and assists in implementation of staff development programs
  • Assumes administrative responsibility for the provision of services on designated shift in collaboration with other members of the management team.  Formulates staff schedule along with the department Director.
  • Provides direct and ongoing supervision of staff with regard to conflict resolution and personnel policy compliance, including input and/or completion of performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.  Communicates directly with department Director on unit and staff issues needing attention.
  • Collaborates with preceptors and new employees to facilitate new employees becoming part of the team
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge base in nursing practice, including equipment operation and policies/procedures used in the delivery of patient care.  Maintains awareness of current developments and trends in nursing practice.

Qualifications

  • FL RN Licensure required or obtained within 90 days of hire if licensed with applicable RN Compact Licensure
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution required.
  • Must be enrolled in BSN program.
  • 1-3+ years of nursing leadership experience required
  • 3-5+ years of nursing leadership experience preferred
  • BLS Certification required
