Performsthe basic call processing function for the hospital in addition to instructing users in the operation of telephones, radio pagers, hand-held radios, and special needs communication equipment, mail center duties. Ability to multi-task, accurate documentation, and attend to department and physician call needs. Knowledge in the communication systems throughout the hospital including, Stentofon system, code blue panels, overhead systems, security cameras, and nurse call.
Interest and the ability to work with computers and technical equipment are desired. Familiarity with hospitals is desirable.
Computer experience is required. Prior customer/receptionist service or switchboard is preferred. Must be able to type, use numbers accurately, spell, alphabetize, and have pleasant, well-modulated voice. Must have ability to move quickly to acknowledge and send notification of alarms. A positive attitude and consistent growth of knowledge is expected.
